Housing
OVERVIEW
At Habitat for Humanity Greater Vancouver, we are committed to creating sustainable and inclusive communities by providing affordable, safe housing for families, empowering youth through skills training, and promoting environmental stewardship through responsible deconstruction practices.
We support low to middle-income families by taking them out of the rental cycle. Monthly housing payments are not greater than 30% of their household income, and families take a portion of these monthly payments with them when they are ready to leave and purchase a home in the traditional market.
Our partner families demonstrate a need for safe, affordable housing, can make their monthly lease payments, and are willing to partner with us. Our families volunteer 500 hours, referred to as service hours, before moving into their home, by volunteering on the construction site to build their home or another family's home, in our ReStores, or with event and/or office support.
Habitat for Humanity Greater Vancouver has 27 three- and four-bedroom townhomes in Burnaby, 12 two- and three-bedroom homes in Richmond, 19 three-bedroom homes in Mission, and 1 three-bedroom + den home in North Vancouver.
We are currently accepting applications for our two and three-bedroom homes in Richmond and a 3-bedroom+den home in North Vancouver. To see if you are eligible to apply, please complete our Pre-Screening Form.
